Anglican Diocese of Okene at 12; Bishop Onsachi declares that the church of God is marching to glory.

Today the 27th of May, 2020 the Anglican members of Okene diocese converged at the Cathedral church of St. Andrews Okene in appreciating 12 years of God's faithfulness that the diocese was created.
The Lord bishop of the diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Onsachi in his sermon attested to the fact that God has been faithful to the church (body of Christ) in Ebira land and the Anglican Communion in particular.
The clergy man went memory lane to give a brief history of the Anglican Communion in Ebira land and the creation of Okene diocese in the year 2008.
According to Bishop Onsachi, the Anglican Church is now 102 years in Ebira land. The Reverend Father stressed that there were times the church was under the episcopacy of Ondo, Kwara, Lokoja before the now Okene diocese. He highlighted some heroes of the Anglican Communion who contributed immensely to the creation of Okene diocese to include; Late. Bishop Herbert Haruna of blessed Memory who was the first Ebira man to become an Anglican bishop, Rtd. Rt. Rev. George Bako, Most. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Ebunu and the pioneer bishop of Okene Diocese Rtd. Rt. Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Ajulo amongst others.
Bishop Onsachi said since his consecration and installation as the bishop of Okene diocese he has not deviated from the vision of the founding fathers of the church. He stressed that Christianity is a light that shines in any society it dwells and it has been exemplified through the building of schools, and other social amenities courtesy of the church.
Bishop Onsachi did not fail to appreciate the governor of Kogi state who despite all odds stood his ground regarding the matter of Covid 19 pandemic. According to the clergy man, the decision of the governor to allow religious bodies congregate was a welcome development as it affords the people the opportunity to pray for the total healing of the world.
The Bishop went further to declare that God is set to do what eyes have not seen and hears have not heard for good in the land and Kogi State.
Three clergymen were preferred as Honorary Canons in the spirit of the the celebration.
Present at the anniversary thanksgiving were clergymen from different Anglican Churches, Pst. Dr. Halimat Saliu (Big Mama) , A veteran Communicator, Mrs. Victoria Jagboro, Provost Kogi state college of education technical kabba, Pst. Mrs Alice Ungwaha, Wife of the deputy general overseer Gospel Assemblies Intercontinental, Legal practitioners amongst other church faithfuls.
